Traditionally, salvia leaves were formed into a chewable quid which delivers a potent and lasting trip, but its taste is not for the faint-hearted. On the other hand, smoking salvia leaves straight isn’t very strong. That’s where the concentrates come in. They are salvia-standardized extracts. Mostly, extracts are named after their potency. A 15x extract means that 15g of leaves were used to produce 1g of extract. Since the smoke of salvia is tough on the throat and lungs, it is more efficient and comfortable to use as well as preparing salvia extracts. Salvinorin A is rapidly metabolized in the body, which implies that the total dose is ingested as quickly as possible. That’s why it is much easier to reach a complete breakthrough with an extract than pure leaf or smoke.
There are many different ways or methods of preparing salvia extracts, below is a very effective method of producing Standardized Salvia Extract. Before you extract your salvia, you will need dried leaves of Salvia Divinorum, a blender, a saucepan, a small narrow glass, a pipette, and chemicals like naphtha and acetone.
Preparing Salvia: Step 1
Take the dried leaves of salvia in a container and blend them into small amounts. The first result will not be good, but after repeating the process 2 to 3 times, you can achieve the desired result in the form of a paste.
Extract the chemicals present in the leaves. Salvinorin-A is a chemical present in the leaves of Salvia Divinorum. To extract it, you need to mix the crushed leaves with equal amounts of solvent to cover the entire portion of the paste.
Stir the mixture constantly for 5 to 10 minutes and allow it to settle for 6 to 8 hours. During this period, almost all Salvinorin –A dissolves in the solvent. Pour the solution into a source pan, leaving the solid material in the glass.
Evaporate the mixture using a hot apparatus or hair dryer. To dry the leaves, place them in the glass baking dish and put them in the oven at 95-100°C, turning and scooping them every couple of hours. Before taking them out, let the leaves remain in the range until they are scorched.
Preparing Salvia: Step 5
Dissolve the mixture in naphtha. It helps eliminate the mix’s black color, leaving only Salvinorin-A behind.
Fortification of extract – Mix Salvinorin-A with equal amounts of solvent. It helps you in preparing salvia extract of high quality. Take salvia-dried leaves of equal amounts and put them in a container, then pour the mixture from the pan into it.
Remove the amount of leaf you want to use to put the concentrate back on for a 5x concentrate, 20g. For a 10x concentrate, 10g, 20x concentrate 5g, and so on.
Note: 5x = 18mg per gram, 10x = 36mg per gram, 20x = 72mg per gram and so on and Evaporate all the solvent to get to get your finished product.
To get the different strong versions of salvia extract, you will need to measure various quantities of Salvia Divinorum dried leaves that you will condense to 1 gram. It would help if you remembered, however, that the higher the multiplication power in terms of the weight of the dried leaves, the more potent the extract. When you follow these steps, you will be preparing salvia extract. However, if you are unsure of the process, purchasing the product from legitimate vendors in the market is advised.
